When the Promoting gets tuff! the tuff get Promoting!

guess i should do a update on  what i think good promoting  ideas are.

so to begin with ; websites

websites have been around for quite a lengthly period of time and have grown in volume and ability, now incorporating new technologies like, flash,divx,css styling and many other wonderful things that make the web a excellent resource for self promoting.

Along with the basics of a website  there is many opportunities and benefits of having a webpage , as it can be a key role in being found out and taken in by companies interested in what you can do.

advertisement/freelance

every designer f all kinds  has to have some form of advertisement, this is usually through previous work that has been done such as: graphics,animation,web, book design, posters,flyers,t-shirts anything.

Facebook, Bebo, Twitter and  other social networking sites, these can be a excellent place to promote yourself, giving that these sites are  from local and global networks, so a vast amount of people browse pages  and look up friends friends, and  perhaps some one looking for talented people may be  browsing at this time.

i personally found bebo to be good, because you can put your videos on the main page  the profile page,  all your blubs and  blogs, and also the page itself can be redesigned by you, by making profile skins, these can even be distributed amongst other networkers.

facebook, facebook as taken the word by storm  it features in almost every advertisement dealing  with  technology, such as the ipad ads. facebook is good for blogs, and linking to videos, they can be viewed also on the page but  seperatly  in a new window, not as convenient  as bebo's.

word of mouth. the most effective way of communicating your ideas, thoughts and  your business.
if 1 person passed to their friend and they did the same and so on and on and on and on then soon that 1 person has  communicated your work to  maybe a 100  or so. and their friends pass on to more and more and soon it spread further, making it  very well for  advertising , but downside it is because chinese whispers and names can be forgotten or  other facts, so its best to hand out business cards really..
